Impact Evaluation with BAPPENAS

IMA conducted a week-long tailored training with the Indonesian planning agency BAPPENAS on Impact Evaluation to enhance technical knowledge and skills for evaluations. The workshop brought together 17 members of staff from 10 different Directorates including 3 directors.

One great advantage of a tailor-made training is that organisationally specific group work can be developed, and ideas and plans can be shared with colleagues situated in different departments, locations, and levels, creating an excellent space for teambuilding.

Topics covered included including key principles and developing evaluation questions, and practiced methodologies including Randomised Control Trials, Process Tracing, Contribution analysis, Outcome Harvesting, and Most Significant Change.  We reconstructed intervention logic, covered skills in commissioning evaluations, and considered the use and sharing of evaluation findings for accountability and learning.

Thank you to everyone at BAPPENAS for their enthusiasm and effort. We believe a participatory and fun approach is a key dimension to adult learning and we were really happy to see this approach enjoyed by the whole team!

Their names are What and Why and When
And How and Where and Who."
