This is a new course to help project staff and non-M&E specialists increase their skills in using the logical framework and understand its strengths and weaknesses compared to other approaches.

    • Formulating statements of objectives and linking them in result chains

    Objectives and indicators

    • Identifying the environmental conditions necessary to progress from low to high level objective

    • Assessing different types of indicator

    • Developing pro-poor and gender-sensitive indicators

    • Identifying the main types of monitoring activity and fitting them to indicators
  • Day 3
    Strengths, weaknesses, design alternatives and wider options

    • Evaluating existing logical frameworks using quality criteris

    • Analysing the overall strengths and weaknesses of the logical framework approach

    • Understanding how leading development agencies adapt and customise logical frameworks

    • Exploring alternatives to the logical framework
