Results-based Monitoring and Evaluation
Build an organisation-wide monitoring and evaluation system that delivers results
This five-day programme will help you introduce a results-based approach to monitoring and evaluation (M&E) across your organisation. You will leave the course with a thorough understanding of the underlying principles and practical tools needed to successfully create an organisation-wide system.

Why choose this course
The course is aimed primarily at M&E officers who hold, or are about to assume, responsibility for introducing and running a results-based approach across the organisation. Popular with individuals and groups from the private sector, NGOs and government agencies, it also helps M&E specialists from bi-lateral and multi lateral donors. Our facilitators will ensure you maximise your learning by joining in an exchange of ideas with M&E specialists from other sectors.
Introducing an organisation-wide approach to M&E involves many stakeholders, not all of whom will need the same level of M&E knowledge and skills. Our Introduction to Logic Models course is a good way to introduce the principles of M&E to senior managers and those working with, or reporting to, M&E officers and ensure they understand their role in its success.
What you will learn
Through short presentations and practical case study exercises, you will explore a simple six-stage approach to designing and implementing a results-based system in your organisation. You will learn how to:
- Determine your organisation’s readiness to embrace a new system.
- Identify the different stakeholders and their roles.
- Define key results and develop a logic model to show how they are connected.
- Develop indicators and obtain data.
- Design a system to gather, store, transmit and use information.
- Anticipate and overcome challenges.
