- Understand how M&E for organisations differs from M&E for projects
- Describe the main features of Results-based Monitoring & Evaluation (RBME)
- Describe the six stages in building or reforming an RBME system
- Compare the M&E system in your organisation with the classic approach to RBME

- Know how to equip yourselves and your team for building an RBME system
- Identify key stakeholders for your system and which ones to involve in key decisions
- Conduct a readiness assessment for your organisation
- Identify key success areas for organisations and align these in logic models

- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) for M&E systems, using best practice criteria
- Set targets for KPIs
- Identify suitable data sources for M&E systems
- Distinguish between the uses of quantitative and qualitative (including evaluation) data

- Describe the type of organisational structures and processes needed to make full use of M&E data
- Understand the planning process for the implementation of an RBME system

Day 5
- Individually or in groups revisit a key step in setting up an M&E system for your own organisation: work through key processes and present to wider group for input
