IMA Senior Consultant Julia Smith led a week-long retreat for the Senior Management Team of WaterAid from across East Africa. The highly interactive workshop strengthened the Leadership capacity of individual participants and also developed team relationships within and between countries of the Region. The workshop was designed with the participation of key WaterAid personnel. The course balanced educational content with team assignments that developed key aspects of WaterAid's internal culture, performance management, people strategy and high-level team working.
The workshop was timed to precede a 3-day Regional Meeting so that personal and group learning could be immediately utilised in that decision-making forum. Anne-Marie Harrison, IMA's People Management Specialist co-facilitated the training thus providing an effective ratio of consultant-client support and generous opportunities for managers to meet for one-to-one coaching sessions and personal development dialogues.
