Sustainable Livelihoods Training

The course was based loosely on the format used in the introduction to SLA offered to representatives of all prospective GMOU partners (including PNI) in December 2006.  Three PNI staff who had attended the previous workshop were again present on this occasion, and their background knowledge provided a useful resource for other participants.  Four broad objectives were agreed:

1. To familiarise staff with the SLA
2. To determine how SLA could be incorporated into PNI’s strategic thinking and operational practice
3. To enhance mutual understanding and forge closer working relations between staff members
4.  To help build the foundation for a longer term partnership between PNI and IMA

23 people attended, three of whom came from the foundations PNI has helped to establish.  The remainder were all from PNI itself, accounting for the great majority of the organisation’s professional staff and including both those with operational and administrative responsibilities.
