Indonesia, July 2008
Indonesia ranks high on the lists of countries where corruption is endemic. IMA International was contracted by Kemitraan, a UNDP-supported Indonesian foundation that focuses on supporting good governance and eradicating corruption, to provide customised Project Cycle Management (PCM) and Logical Framework (LF) training for its Head Office staff.
IMA International’s Trainer worked closely with the Kemitraan Monitoring and Evaluation team to design two intense 4 day training programmes that focused on developing participants’ understanding of what makes a project successful, using Log Frames, and addressing donors’ needs. A PCM pre-training test was also designed, and the participants’ PCM knowledge was tested before workshops began. Throughout the training, organisational documents and forms, as well as donor evaluations were used as the basis for exercises and discussions. A number of practical PCM tools and techniques were introduced and used, for example participants designed and conducted a small survey, which they then analysed before reporting findings in relation to their LF. Finally a PCM post training test was conducted to measure the impact of the training and identify areas for future PCM training.
