Performance Management for International HIV|AIDS Alliance

In December, IMA were delighted to extend their partnership of working with IHAA - Aids Alliance in UK to work with their colleagues in the Ukraine. Following on from work done in the UK to support their new appraisal system, our consultant worked with the Ukraine HR department in Kiev to support the roll out of their Performance Management system due to start in January 2008.

Having already had a workshop a few months ago to develop performance management skills, they were particularly interested in ensuring that they were able to cascade their Strategic Framework into SMART department, team and individual objectives as a prerequisite for an effective appraisal process. Three workshops were held - one with the Senior management Team to review the overall cascade process, develop draft KPIs for monitoring progress on achieving the Strategic Framework, and then to focus on one part of their Strategic Framework and detail how the different departments would support the Strategy. The two following workshops used this material with their management teams to develop the next level department plan and to lay the foundations for SMART team and individual objectives.

All the workshops were focused, practical and highly interactive and feedback was very positive including comments such as “very relevant, helpful and useful for our 2008 planning process” and “the timing, organisation and materials was very good”
