People Skills for Development Managers

IMA International was invited by WaterAid Tanzania to deliver a specially customised version of our course "People Skills for Development Managers". 17 participants attended the 5 day course, representing the 3 management teams from the East Africa Region: Tanzania. Ethiopia and Uganda.

Training needs were identified through discussions with the Country Representatives and the course was designed to give participants an in depth understanding of how to manage people effectively, with an emphasis on interactive and experiential learning. It provided a balance between conceptual learning and the practise of specific tools and techniques.

Overall feedback rated the programme to be very popular and a great success in terms of content, relevance, delivery and practicality. Most popular topics were leadership and management, managing change, teambuilding and communications. Participants worked extremely well together and maintained energy, commitment and focus throughout the week. They developed detailed and prioritised country team as well as personal Action Plans, which demonstrated a good understanding of the topics covered. Participants were optimistic about applying their new skills and tools on their return to work, and IMA look forward to supporting them in doing so.
