The lively mix of activities and practice sessions ensured all participants on the recent the People Skills for Development Managers course expanded their capacity to inspire others and manage their staff effectively. The rich learning experience provided opportunities to analyse their own leadership styles, practice coaching, establish good rapport with people, effectively manage meetings and strengthen team performance. Participants also learned to respond knowledgably to issues of staff morale & motivation as well as a process for delegating in an empowering way.
The participants included a Grants Manager from the Churches Health Association of Churches in Zambia, Several representatives from the American Red Cross in Indonesia, the Executive Director of ACORD in Kenya, and A Dutch Public Health Specialist. To mark the end the course participants dined at a restaurant that overlooked Kuala Lumpur city with a spectacular view of the Petronas Towers shining across the skyline.
