One day Team Building Workshop for the International Organisation for Migration July 7th 2006

Following a team building event in 2005, IMA provided a follow up workshop for the Migration team at the Grim's Dyke hotel in Harrow Weald. The team had already implemented some of the proposals recommended in the first workshop, but continued to face challenges with an increased workload and rapid growth of the team from 25 to 50 people over a period of 6 months this year. The day was intended to be both a learning forum and a reward for the team's hard work. The workshop provided a mix of team related practical exercises designed for participants to enjoy working together in different team configurations, to learn experientially about different aspects of teamwork and how they might enhance their team performance. Some exercises focused on analysis of the team's daily way of working, providing a structure for them to develop back at the work place. Other exercises were one off learning sessions, sometimes with a competitive element which the participants performed with great enthusiasm and achieved very high quality output! As the weather was warm and sunny, we were able to use the extensive gardens of the hotel in some of the exercises, which all added to the variety and pace of the day. Feedback at the end of the day was very positive and we hope will provide some useful ongoing learning for this busy and talented team.
