Brighton, April 2010
Our first Monitoring and Evaluation in Development Course of the year was held in Brighton, UK. Due to the volcanic ash cloud which affected international flights, the course started slightly later than planned, on 23rd April and ran through the weekend to Friday 30th April.
Congratulations to the participants who managed to make it to the course despite the travel disruptions. They came from as far away as Cuba, Nigeria and Ethiopia, as well as closer to home, from Italy and Switzerland. Organisations represented included WFP, UNDP and Chevron Oil Company.
Participants were provided with the tools and knowledge to create or manage a successful M&E system for their projects. Just as important, they learned how to ensure that project stakeholders build on the results of the M&E system to improve project management and help achieve the results that they aim for.
