M and E for HIV|AIDS in Papua New Guinea

IMA International was invited by the National Aids Council Secretariat of Papua New Guinea to develop a tailor-made course to be delivered in Papua New Guinea to staff from 9 organisations working on HIV/AIDS. 35 participants attended this course on Monitoring and Evaluation with SPSS training which had been specifically tailored to meet the expressed training needs of the course participants whose theme was HIV/AIDS monitoring. The course was delivered in five days at Holiday Inn, Port Moresby. Overall, the course was designed to enable participants to gain a deeper understanding of M&E in relation to HIV/AIDS with a particular emphasis on SPSS and issues around producing a National Response. It was also developed with the knowledge that participants also needed to impart the knowledge and skills they gained inside their own HIV-AIDS related organisations. Participants were very optimistic about applying the skills and knowledge gained from the course in their day-to-day work. One of the successes of the course was the opportunity for stakeholders from different HIV-AIDS related organisations to work together and forge relationships.
