IMA International Monitoring and Evaluation course

IMA came to Kenya for the second time from the 15 - 26 May 2006. Participants, who came from Tanzania, Afghanistan, Uganda, Botswana and Kenya, all work on complex Monitoring and Evaluation issues in different sectors for their organisations. The course was managed by our Course Director, David Hearle, who is based at our Brisbane location, and he was joined by our Senior Consultant for Africa, Sam Kareithi, who operates out of Cape Town. Running the M&E course in Nairobi provides for excellent visits and practical exercises. Participants undertook a real evaluation for VWRC to measure the impact of their para-legal training and vocational training programmes they organise for commercial sex workers. Our courses in Nairobi are held at the Jacaranda Hotel in Westlands. It is well-positioned just outside the city centre and is a safe, easy area to move around in. Social visits were made at the weekend to Lake Naivasha and to view traditional dancing at the Government-operated Bomas of Kenya. The course dinner was held at the world famous Carnivore Restaurant.
