This major project has the purpose of improving capacity of all categories of farmers, especially landless, marginal and small farmers to optimise their use of resources on a sustainable basis. To achieve this the project has three main areas of work.
- Enhancing the capacity of the Department of Agricultural Extension to facilitate GO/NGO private sector extension partnerships at local level
- Improving the capacity of the Department of Agricultural Extension to implement its extension approach to meet the needs of all categories of farmers
- Improving the management capacity of the Department of Agricultural Extension.
