Chris is providing consulting services to support work being done in the inception phase of a programme to support FAOs strategy for fisheries and aquaculture in Africa. The main objectives of this programme are threefold. Firstly, there is a need to identify and address weak governance in this sector. Secondly, the programme aims to enhance the capacity of regional institutions to implement responsible fisheries and aquaculture practices, and lastly, enhance the capacity of fishing and aquaculture communities to reduce their vulnerability to natural disasters and climate change.

Afghanistan, November 2010 – February 2011
Tristan recently completed a 4 month consultancy assignment at the Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Adviser to the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD) in Afghanistan.

Kuala Lumpur, November 2010
The second Monitoring and Evaluation course for 2010 in Kuala Lumpur included participants from Cambodia, Nepal, Mongolia, Yemen, Jordan, Japan, Nigeria, Uganda and Pakistan as well as from Malaysia itself, and they represented an equally diverse range of organisations and programmes.

The first Project Management Course was run for 10 participants in Kuala Lumpur with participants from Nigeria, Botswana, Tanzania, Timor Leste and Bhutan, 2 of which had attended previous IMA training. A diversity of sectors and organisations were represented with NGOs, Governmentand Private Companies being the places of work for different participants. This led to useful sharing of experiences between participants.

A group of 7 came together to study People Management at our base in Kuala Lumpur from Denmark, UK, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan and Laos. Participants were working in either NGOs, UN agencies and one from the private sector and both genders equally represented.
