Training for International Development

Scheduled CoursesBy choosing IMA International, you will be gaining knowledge, skills, practical tools and techniques, which you can take home to improve your work performance, leading to increased productivity and job satisfaction. By concentrating on practical skills, IMA International's training is highly relevant to the work situation. The emphasis will be participative throughout all courses; this means you will be applying the new skills to your own work or organisation and practise using them, to build your confidence before returning to work.

Your learning will be reinforced by on-site visits where you can see various skills and practices being implemented. You will also use case-studies as a basis for exploring and discussing problems and solutions in practical situations.

Our respected course tutors have been chosen for their facilitation skills and extensive practical experience of development worldwide. They will ensure that every member of the group can participate fully in the learning experience. We are consistently told by participants that they choose IMA for training because of the quality of our courses and the high calibre of our course trainers. They also rate our course objectives as a deciding factor.

Locations and Accommodation

The courses are held in several locations around the world; UK, Thailand, South Africa and Kenya. Unfortunately, due to current events in Kenya, the Nairobi courses in 2008 have been relocated to Cape Town.
To provide greater flexibility and offer participants more choice, we no longer include accommodation in our course fees. Usually, you will be able to stay in the same venue as the training, and we can advise of alternative options if necessary.
If you'd like training in another location, see our tailor-made training pages.

Social Events

As well as your training sessions, you will be able to enjoy your leisure time during your stay with IMA. As a free and optional extra service, we organise a varied and interesting social programme, which includes visiting local attractions, eating out and socialising with other participants. You'll enjoy spending time away from study, sharing experiences and making friends with other participants from all over the world.

Course Certificates

At the end of your course, you'll be presented with your own IMA certificate, along with a course CD containing all the training presentations you can use to train others, and any course photos as a reminder of your time with IMA.

Costs

The prices quoted cover tuition, course training materials, excursions and social visits. Each participant will need a daily allowance to cover the cost of accommodation, purchasing food and incidentals. Funds are also recommended for airport transfer and the purchase of any books. We normally recommend a minimum of £25 per day.
